Chief Executive
Salary: £33,000-£39,000 per annum (pro rata; FTE £55,000-£65,000)
Hours: Three days a week
Contract: Permanent
Closing date: Fri, 20 November, 5pm.
Since 2015, Pimlico Musical Foundation (PMF) has worked with local schools and communities to provide high-quality music education and opportunities to sing and perform. Its programmes range from in-school music and children’s choirs to adult and community singing, Small Sounds for babies and toddlers, and weekly Choral Evensong at St Gabriel’s. Rooted in Pimlico and the English choral tradition, PMF is inclusive and open to all, working with people from the broadest range of backgrounds.
PMF is now seeking a Chief Executive to shape its next Five-Year Plan and lead the charity into its next phase. This is an opportunity to sustain the quality and character of PMF’s work while developing its programmes in response to the changing needs of local schools and participants. A central part of the role will be building organisational resilience to sustain the Foundation for the long term.
Working closely with the Board, Artistic Director, staff, professional singers, educators and partners, the Chief Executive will provide clear direction and strong day-to-day leadership. Priorities include growing and diversifying income, supporting the progression of young singers, maintaining the commitment and quality of PMF’s staff and Teacher-Singers, and ensuring effective governance and safeguarding.
We are looking for an experienced leader who can bring people together around a clear purpose and turn plans into action. You will have experience of leading teams or organisations, managing finances and resources, generating income and building trusted relationships. Experience in music, education, the arts or community organisations is desirable. An understanding of choral music and its potential to support learning, participation and belonging would also be an advantage.
